Before becoming a mother she worked in research as a developmental psychologist. She now coordinates the central west region of the Society of Childrens' Book Writers and Illustrators and runs critique groups. Laura-Kate Chapman enjoys creating unusual and convincing characters by weaving intricate and eccentric patterns into her work.
